Christel A. Schoenfelder

Rose, Klein & Marias is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our respected partner, colleague, and friend, Christel Schoenfelder, who passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Christel was an integral part of our firm for more than 20 years, dedicating her career to the practice of workers’ compensation law. She was a passionate advocate for injured workers, combining deep legal expertise with genuine compassion for those she represented. Christel’s commitment to fairness and justice earned her the respect of clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel alike.

Beyond her work at the firm, Christel was deeply involved with the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association (CAAA), where she devoted significant time and energy to advancing legislative efforts that improved the lives of injured workers across the state. Christel was a former president of CAAA and championed women’s rights and equality. Her leadership and advocacy helped shape meaningful changes in workers’ compensation law and policy.

Christel will be remembered not only for her professional excellence, but also for her kindness, mentorship, and unwavering integrity. She approached every challenge with a quiet grace and determination, leaving a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Christel’s family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched. Her legacy of service, compassion, and advocacy will continue to inspire us for years to come. She will be deeply missed.
