Three vehicles collide in Hollywood Blvd. accident

Posted on October 31, 2012 in Car Accidents

More than two dozen people were injured recently in a terrible three-vehicle accident between a dump truck, a sedan and a bus on Hollywood Boulevard.

Police said the car accident occurred when the parked dump truck’s brakes went out and it went rolling down a hill. The dump truck sideswiped a metro bus, which in turn collided with a BMW sedan. The sedan was carrying a woman and a 10-year-old girl. The girl was able to get out of the car by herself, while the woman had to be removed from the car by emergency personnel. She was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. At least 15 bus passengers were taken to the hospital, while others were treated at the scene. Fortunately, none of the injuries were described as serious.

Car accidents can occur at any time or place, even when one of the vehicles is unoccupied, as the dump truck was in this case. Whether caused by mechanical failure, inattentive or intoxicated drivers or bad weather conditions, accidents can be life-changing events and they can leave tremendous financial tolls for the victims.

Those injured in a car accident must deal with the financial costs, as well as any injuries incurred. They must pay the cost of any repairs to the vehicle, as well as any relevant medical bills. There is also the issue of lost wages while recovering and the costs of ongoing medical care.

A victim may recover monetary compensation from his or her insurance company for any financial harm suffered, and may also obtain monetary damages from the defendant for his or her recklessness or negligence. Any victim of a car accident may recover monetary damages to put himself or herself back to the place they were before the accident.
