Rose, Klein & Marias Spearheading Campaign for Injured Workers

San Diego -  Mr. Robert Nares, a manual laborer, suffered a work injury in which his leg was amputated above the knee. As a result of Governor Schwarzenegger's changes to the workers' compensation system, the State Compensation Insurance Fund argued that Mr. Nares should only receive payments totaling $50,702.50, a drastic reduction from the payment he would have received prior to the passage of Governor Schwarzenegger's workers' compensation reform statute in April 2004.

Fortunately, Mr. Nares was represented by Andrew Shorenstein, an attorney in the San Diego office of Rose, Klein and Marias. Mr. Shorenstein was successful in obtaining $112,585, as well as a life pension on behalf of Mr. Nares.
Mr. Shorenstein was quoted as saying: "Workers' compensation reform was made with the promise that legitimately injured workers with severe disabilities would still be compensated fairly. Instead we've seen a dramatic reduction in permanent disabilities across the board. This case is only one example."

Rose, Klein and Marias is spearheading the campaign to undo many of the unfair changes in Governor Schwarzenegger's new law which placed limits on obtaining medical treatment, limits on temporary disability and reduced permanent disability awards.
